An old factory,a warm welcome
This landmark factory on the Haaksbergseweg was built in 1834 and served for years as a cotton mill. Its name refers to the row of chestnut trees that once stood in front of the building.
For fourteen years it stood empty, until it was bought in 2015 and rebuilt by hand into Hotel de Kastanjefabriek — where industrial heritage and Achterhoek hospitality meet.
